Catch up

I guess if I'm gonna have this thing, I should use it. At least, use it more often than I have. Here goes, with all the random things that have happened lately.

Older brother Dave is back from Vegas. Turns out being a dealer is great fun in theory, but pandering to assholes for tips isn't fun any way you try it. That goes for any job where tips are a big part of your income. I'm glad he's back.

The brothers and I took a trip to Atlantic City for my birthday. Ironically, we didn't do any gambling at all, due to surly dealers and high table limits and not having a large enough bankroll to gamble with confidence. It was still a good trip, though. If any of y'all are in Atlantic City, you must stop by the Irish Pub. It's a block off the boardwalk, near the middle. . . if you are going northbound on the 'walk, you'll see the lights leading to it. Great atmosphere, inexpensive yet awesome food, and the cutest servers ever! Also of note is the French Quarter Buffet in the Showboat casino. Very much worth the price.

Got lots of video games going on. I'm still not done with Hot Shots Golf Fore yet. . . I have four more courses to unlock, and some of the stage trials are kicking my ass. Recently I finished Star Ocean 3, and I was kinda let down by the ending. The gameplay is definitely its own reward. Now I have to do the "Maze of Tribulations", better known as the Cave of Trials from Star Ocean 2. I finally bought BloodRayne 2, and it is all the fun I thought it would be. Ace Combat 5 has been taking up most of my time as of late. I finally finished the campaign mode, now I have to go back and do the hard level. I still hit up some Burnout 3 now and then, greatest racing game ever. And I really need to get back to Xenosaga II. That combat system demands constant practice. The console wars are heating up, with Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo trying to get their next gen systems up and on the market before everyone else. Guess what? I don't need any of them! I plan on waiting for at least a year before tossing money at a shiney new console. Besides, there's still tons of potential left for the venerable PS2, and the ultra-neat mini-version of it is only $160, brand new.

I finally got to go do some shooting yesterday, and it was glorious. I wish I could have taken some pictures, but my digital camera is screwed. I hope the fine people at Fuji can help me out with that. The shooting was great for two reasons. . . First, I had some very interesting and very promising results using the new aperture sights on my .45-70. Second, I introduced a wonderful young lady to bench rest rifle shooting, and she surprised the hell out of me. She is a fast learner, and seems to be enthusiastic about more shooting in the future. I wish I had a picture of her 100-yard target, it is astounding for her first experience with a scoped rifle. This same young lady shot my Desert Eagle a couple of years ago, with equally impressive results. Kinda cool and kinda scary. . .

Let's see, that's the games, and the guns. . . gazongas? Nope. Not a one in sight. I'm still all single and stuff, and likely to stay that way for a while. Good thing I have all these guns and games to keep me distracted. I hope I get my camera fixed soon. Even with a lack of pictures, I should keep some posts up. Next time I'll get in some anime news.

Ni Hao, Qihuai! Sorry I can't do any of this in chinese. . .
