Back to Real (non-Holiday) Time
Yay, let there be an official end to festivities. The next holiday coming up is Winter-een-Mas, last week of January. Gamers unite! Check out www.wintereenmas.com for the details.
So how about the picture frenzy, yo? Bad pictures like these are what happens when you get a new digital camera. About that. . . long story short: I got a Fuji A340 camera, which retails everywhere in the universe for $200, at Wal-Mart for only $150. I think it was a fluke. Yay, me! So, I have been playing with it to learn how to take better-than-scrotagonal pictures. The cats are convenient targets. Soon, I shall be moving up to taking sky pictures, horrible self portraits with the camera visible in the shot, and 200 pictures out the window of an airplane, with the wing visible in every one. I think this is all required activity, I'm sure I read it in the manual. . . Hey, I bet Ansel Adams took tons of pics out the window of a. . . um. . . mule. . .
Things have quieted down since the holidays. My mom made it back from Utah safe and sound, my brother in Vegas is settled in and doing his thing, I am back to my usual work/home/work/home schedule. This is not a bad thing. I like having a normal schedule.
There are many events brewing that promise to make for an exciting spring. A friend of mine in York wants to move to the Harrisburg area soon, and is making plans for that. My other friend (yeah, so I only have two friends, is that what I'm saying??) is graduating in June from ITT, and many changes will follow. Hopefully, I will get word this week that I am a member of the local Sportsmans' Club, which means that I can go shooting more often. And now I have a reason to -- I got my new set of aperture sights all set up on my Buffalo rifle. Heh heh heh. That, and I am trying to work up a good accurate handload for my 7mm rifle. And I need to shoot my Desert Eagle several thousand times. I'm also gonna get back to weightlifting (get back to? start? meh, whichever) since I am waaaay too fat. I have enough blubber to keep me warm in the very depths of the ocean. Lotsa stuff to do!
Not much new on the video game front. I am still doing sidequest and levelling-up stuff in Star Ocean, I only have one golfer left to unlock in Hot Shots Golf Fore, and I get to play Ace Combat on the weekends. Hopefully I will complete Star Ocean before Xenosaga II hits in February. Oh, and they set a spring release date for Drakengard II in Japan, lucky bastards.
Anime? What's that? Oh yeah, that stuff that I do when I get bored with games. . . Hm, I have sooo many DVDs waiting to watch, I don't know where to begin. So I won't even begin, ha ha ha. I haven't seen any upcoming releases that excite me at all. Oh, except for the trio of Ghibli films coming soon to DVD -- Porco Rosso, Nausicaa, and The Cat Returns. All three are better than anything Disney could hope to produce right now. Maybe once Michael Eisner gets hit by a bus, Disney can move on and start making the fantastic movies they made during the late 80's.
I think the cold I have been avoiding for the last 2 weeks finally caught up with me. Or maybe I grew a nice fiberglass coating on the back of my throat. Neither is very much fun.
Whew. That should do it for now. I'll post again once I have more crappy photos to share. The next ones will include me and guns, I know that much. Matte ne!
